What I See "today"

The count down starts….the boats started coming in, sorry the “yachts”, being a mallu every thing which travels in water is boat for me, other than the fish, okay, leave that…..Ericsson Racing Team – Ericsson 4 arrived in Cochin Port at 4.22am on 30th, Dec 2008. May be because of early morning, no Ministers were available to welcome them and more over they arrived 3 days early. The contract given is only from 3rd Dec to 13th Dec, if the yachts arrived early, its not the concern of Tourism department. Shri.P.K. Gurudasan Minister. Portfolios: Labour, Employment and Training, Rehabilitation, inaugurated the race village today evening, venue for the the food festival and fashion shows.
Its really sad that our tourism Minister couldn’t turn up for the inauguration, as he announced yesterday about his visit to Col Sandeep Unnikrishnan’s house in Bangalore (Bangalore Mallu Vote bank).

The next lap of the race starts on 13th Dec 2008, until then it will be celebrations in Kochi, actually the 10days given in Kochi is for the maintenance of the Yachts, sorry mallu mechanics, the maintenance work will be done by the crew and their authorized mechanics, all set and waiting for the Yachts to come. I wonder where the crew members will stay in Kochi, as the rooms for them are blocked only from 3rd Dec.

“The speed of the boat depends on the wind. Even though this (Ericsson 4) team reached the Kerala waters quite early, they could approach to the finishing line only today (Sunday) early morning because of the wind conditions. The next team is expected later in the day,” said an official of the Cochin Port Trust.

The Kerala Tourism department(Left Front) and Cochin Port Trust (CPT) have spent Rs.300 million for the arrangements, which includes the welcoming ceremony of the Yachts, but the Right Front supportive wind doesn’t show any soft corner to the Left Front, who made all the arrangements of the inaugural ceremony, to go for a 6.

Following the Mumbai terror attacks, the only worry for the organizers were, whether the nearly 5,000 rooms blocked in and around this town, will be filled up by the race enthusiasts. I am more worried about what will happen to Manorama’s Ketchup (the food village), I will surely take my family every day to have some food from there, that seems to be the only way to help Manorama. I can’t help them by giving advts., poor guys running short of advt for the last few days and even reduced the number of pages from 22 to 16.
Whatever the scenario, today “what I see “ : hundreds of enthusiastic Kochi youths standing behind me in the queue to get a glimpse of Ericson 4.
