What i See - PMGHS 87 Batch

Don't want to run away from the fact that I am getting old, even though in my  40's, things around me and the nostalgia about my school days makes me feel that I nearing my retiring age soon.

Last day happened to meet few of my friends of PMGHS (Pandit Mothilal Government High School Palakkad) who used to be with me in the same batch or same class or in the same bench, meeting people after 25 year makes me to rewind all the good old back bench days. Memories flashed 25 years back with all the black and white images of all the rotten things done in the class rooms. The one and only Sri. Mundoor Sethumathavan sir with his bamboo stick rushing into the class and playing a Shivamani Drum effect in the hands of notorious few. Sri. Vijayachandra Karanavar with his stylish Malayalam class a person with a awesome personality reciting  "Pandoru Vandi Kala" with his stifled voice, the Magical Biology class of Sri Anaanthavalli teacher, most tolerable Sri Vijayalakshmi teacher, everything flashed in a second.

There were around 120 pupils in our batch all scattered in different part of the globe, few said good bye to life, few still struggling in life, few running behind money, few taking life as what it comes, for sure no one will say he is settled in his life everyone will have his own story to share,  Looking for the good old days where we used to enjoy life at our parents cost.

Those days were not so colorful as it was boys school but everyone made it colourful by peeping through the windows into Victoria College. When few of my batch mates called me to be part of organizing a reunion i was sure the attendance will be poor  as it won't be as colourful as it need to be. Now we realize what we missed during our school days by studying in a boys high school.  No matter what we did during those days but  now we are running in the age of responsibility, commitments and many more, thinking of making the reunion a feast for our kids, why can't be the reunion day dedicated for our family . The thought was shared and few nodded their head supporting but need to bring into a shape. The meeting was attended by very few of my fellow friends, but for sure more will join hands in coming days

Whom should we brought into as the chief guest , the Head mistress or Chamiyaar who used to sell crushed ice with sweet syrup outside the school or Mr. Basheer who runs a petty shop outside the school, the discussion will continue. May be in next few days we might land up in finalizing the date and venue.

Why this reunion ?

not only Just to bring back the old memories in life,

but also to give helping hand for someone who is struggling in life,

For us to laugh and cry to forget all the worries in life and bring back the child hood in us.

Well written, my friend. I wish I could join the first meeting that you folks had. Will try for the one you are planning in summer.

Da...nicely written...It would be nice if you can add something about our JI (Somasundaran Sir), Chandra Choodan (who throws chalks when he get angry).

Also I remember the days of having Kacchaayam and Samosa from PARIS, Parotta and Kuruma (Just for Rs.2/-) from Hotel Salkara, and the Haris Hotel where we used to hang out.

It is a great feeling when we met and shared the memories of our golden days.

Thanks for making our meet meaningful.
